SinceVision Launches SH8 Series Ultra-High-Speed Cameras: Capturing Every Instant of High-Speed Action at 1.10 million fps
SinceVision has launched its new SH8 Series ultra-high-speed cameras, designed specifically for high-demand applications in aerospace, scientific research, and process engineering. The camera features a 20μm back-illuminated (BSI) sensor delivering an EMVA 1288-verified peak quantum efficiency of ≥85% across a 250 nm to 1050 nm wavelength range, shooting up to 1,100,000 fps to capture extreme transient events without compromising data security or low-light image quality.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Shenzhen, China – June 9, 2026 – SinceVision has officially announced the release of its highly anticipated SH8 Series ultra-high-speed cameras. Equipped with a cutting-edge back-illuminated (BSI) image sensor featuring a massive 20μm pixel size, the SH8 Series is engineered with exceptional hardware circuit design and an efficient data management system.
Specifically developed to meet the rigorous demands of scientific research, aerospace, and advanced process engineering, the SH8 Series ensures that every microsecond of transient motion is captured with crystal-clear clarity.
"We built the SH8 series to eliminate the compromises researchers face in extreme transient events," said Ethan Fu, Product Manager of High-Speed Camera at SinceVision. "Traditional sensors often encounter obstacles in application scenarios in low light and ultraviolet bands. SH8 breaks this limit. The selected image sensor adopts BSI process, has a large pixel size of 20um, its wavelength response range can reach 250 nm to 1050 nm, and its peak quantum efficiency can exceed 90%. In Binning mode, camera parameters can support up to 640×512@120,000FPS to capture previously unobservable content."
Key Innovations of the SinceVision SH8 Series
Unmatched High-Speed Imaging
The SinceVision SH8 Series is powered by the latest generation of ultra-high-speed image sensors. It is capable of continuous capture at 30,000 fps at a full resolution of 1280×1024. Pushing the boundaries further, it achieves a maximum frame rate of 1,100,000 fps and a minimum exposure time of just 150 ns. This effectively eliminates motion blur, making it the premier choice for the precise analysis of extremely rapid mechanics.
Ultra-High Sensitivity via BSI Technology
Moving away from traditional front-illuminated sensors, the SH8 Series utilizes a 20μm large-pixel back-illuminated design. By relocating the metal interconnect layer to the rear of the photosensitive layer, light reaches the photodiodes directly. This structural optimization drastically improves photon capture efficiency, resulting in a phenomenal increase in equivalent sensitivity—particularly critical in low-light, high-speed environments.
Expanded Quantum Efficiency & Spectral Range
With a peak quantum efficiency of ≥85% as measured by EMVA 1288, this camera delivers excellent imaging performance across the 250 nm to 1050 nm wavelength range. This breakthrough allows for high-speed imaging even in the invisible light spectrum, rendering it an essential scientific instrument for flame spectroscopy, corona discharge detection, combustion diagnostics, and specialized material analysis.
Advanced 2×2 Pixel Binning Mode
To capture the fastest-moving moments in challenging lighting, the SH8 Series features a 2×2 pixel binning mode. By combining four adjacent pixels into a single readout, the camera quadruples its frame rate while simultaneously quadrupling the light-sensitive area. This significantly boosts the signal-to-noise ratio, delivering brighter, cleaner images and achieving an ideal balance between blistering speed and pristine image quality.
Ultra-Large, Secure Non-Volatile Storage
High-speed imaging generates massive data sets. The SH8 Series addresses this with up to 8TB of built-in non-volatile storage, ensuring critical data remains safe even during sudden power outages. Additionally, it supports up to 15.36TB of hot-swappable storage, providing the flexibility to expand capacity on the fly. Coupled with an efficient data management system for flexible image segmentation, this setup enables rapid data migration and seamless multi-camera sharing for high-volume shoots.
Typical Application Scenarios of SH8 Series Camera
The SinceVision SH8 Series is specifically designed to capture extreme transient events and meet ultra-high temporal resolution imaging requirements. It provides unparalleled insight into dynamic environments, including:
Dynamic material responses and crack propagation analysis
Detonation physics and shock wave dynamics.
High-speed motion mechanisms in biomechanics, such as insect catapulting and rapid muscle contraction.
Aerospace engineering applications, including fuel spray analysis and plasma flow observation.
High-voltage discharges and arc evolution.
Dynamic behavior tracking within micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS).
The SinceVision SH8 Series ultra-high-speed camera will be available to the international market starting October 2026. While full orders are not yet open, we are currently accepting advance inquiries. Researchers, universities, and OEM partners can contact SinceVision today to discuss imaging applications, technical requirements, and custom system integration needs ahead of the launch.
